How To Put Up Curtains
1. Notice that the brackets from the cheapass accordion blinds are still up, and decide to remove them.
2. Grab screwdriver, climb ladder, and notice that the screws are Phillips.
3. Look for Phillips screwdriver.
4. Look for Phillips screwdriver.
5. Find one of those little convertible screwdriver thingies that don't work.
6. Try first Phillips head in convertible screwdriver thingie that doesn't work.
7. Be surprised that it does not work.
8. Try other Phillips head in convertible screwdriver thingie that doesn't work.
9. Be surprised that it does not work.
10. Decide that, you know what, the stupid brackets can stay up, and I'll just mount the new curtain rods above them.
11. Climb up ladder holding bracket, two nails, and a hammer.
12. Hammer finger while trying to get nail in and drop nail.
13. Climb down ladder.
14. Look for nail, don't find.
15. Go back up ladder, stepping over cat on second step.
16. Hammer in remaining nail, install bracket, and decide that one nail is just going to have to do it.
17. Step on cat while climbing down ladder.
18. Climb back up ladder with second bracket and nails.
19. Hammer in first nail, whacking index finger this time.
20. Put bracket on nail and hammer nail in rest of way, bending the top of the bracket thingie while doing so.
21. Put second nail in, bending bottom of bracket thingie the other way.
22. Attempt unsuccessful whacking of bracket thingie back in proper shape with hammer. Hit finger again.
23. Attempt installation of rod. Notice that bent bracket thingie is preventing installation.
24. Down ladder again, and get pliers.
25. Up ladder again, bend bracket thingie back into bracket thingie shape.
26. Successfully install curtain rod, crossing fingers that bracket with only one nail stays up.
27. Install first and second panels of curtains.
28. Notice wrinkles in curtains, and decide that eventually they will go away by themselves.
29. Admire curtains, and hope that the cats don't swing on them too much.
