Work Anecdotes
I got a call last week from one of our customers who has a furniture store in Minnesota. His store had been broken into the night before, and the only things stolen were one of our settees and an occasional table.
Now I think this is a big huge compliment � a whole store full of furniture, and the thief chose ours!
I�m thinking of creating an advertising campaign with the slogan, �Our Furniture is So Good People Steal It!�
Today I received an email from our rep who liaises with one of our big mail order customers. It was marked �URGENT� New packaging requirements!!!
The email contained detailed packaging requirements for handbags (should come with a Polly (sic) bag or box even if a cloth cover is provided), draperies and rods (should be on hangers (by selling unit) & Protected with plastic). Rod's (sic again) and Finials should be packed by selling unit.), mirrored/framed art (Packing material between the mirror and the glass must be shock absorbent.), lamps (Lamps should be boxed with the lamp and the shade together.), and ceramic or glass home d�cor (Accessories or pumps need to be secure within the box).
We sell wooden furniture.
My boss, who is very cool, immediately emailed back saying that we will be happy to ship our handbags per their specifications.
And finally, some pictures of the baby hippo who lost his mom due to the tsunami, and was adopted by a 125 year old turtle. I stole these pictures off Yahoo, which is probably some kind of internet felony, but look at that face! I want a baby hippo!
